Please, understand. I do this as much to protect my own hide as I do to inform the people of the world of a potential danger in their midst. Since moving 'across the pond' I have seen some of the most amazing, terrifying things. I have had close encounters with alien life. Mock me, if you will, but you cannot deny the irrefutable evidence I have gathered. And there's more... so much more that I, thankfully, was not a witness to but others have seen before me. And I'm afraid it's only just the beginning...
First, I suppose I should start by saying I'm just an ordinary human, at least, last I checked anyway. These days... well, I was born in a relatively unknown town in Iowa. I say unknown because unless you're from Iowa or have spent any real time there, you probably have never heard of it. Like the lion cub it was, it constantly tried to proclaim it's dominance and size while at the same time being overshadowed by the greater importance of her sister city. What drove me from this insignificant town to the great lights of London I can't tell you. Perhaps, I simply never felt American enough to remain. Perhaps, it was fate, if you believe such things. At any rate, I found myself in one of the grandest cities England could offer and what I saw there lead me to Wales... to Cardiff... to them.
I don't know who they are, where they come from, but I know what they do. They constantly fight the alien threats to this planet. Ever hear a story about a giant demon killing people with only it's shadow? They fought it. Remember waking up and looking at the sky to find, not our precious sun, but twenty-six planets like moons circling our orbit? Creatures shaped like trash cans threatening total annihilation to those who refused to cooperate? They were there. They fought. Even now, they defend this planet. And they do these things in secret because the public is simply not ready to face the truth: Aliens are out there and not all of them are benevolent beings like E. T. or Superman. Some... most... are dangerous and aggressive.
I don't know how long I'll remain off their radar, especially now that I've gone public with my knowledge, but I will continue to monitor their movements as best I can. The world deserves to know what's going on around it. The public is ready to accept the truth. The people have the right to the secrets kept beneath the Millennium building. What is Torchwood doing now?
